Petra Luz

Born in Buckten, Switzerland, Petra Luz completed an apprenticeship to become a goldsmith at Juwelier Kurtz AG Basel, Switzerland. She now works as a professional goldsmith and teacher in Montreal.

“My openness to, and my awareness of, daily occurrences become my source of inspiration. Suddenly common things turn into pieces of jewellery. I love to create something with the minimum of elements. Forms from nature are reduced and transformed into abstract shapes. In the end, it is the simplicity of a piece that fascinates me the most, and that is what I strive to achieve.”
