Sample Cache Brooch made from sterling silver, rust, stainless steel and 14k yellow gold using hand-fabricated techniques, oxidation, as well as 3D printing.

Inspired by the sample collection tubes utilized as part of Perseverance rover's sample caching system, this brooch illustrates the idea of a lost or forgotten Martian sample tube, reinterpreted into a simplistic, deteriorating toroidal form. The tube appears open from the back, revealing some hints of the rock, regolith, and decay found within its encasement.
