Using the pearl as a metaphor, the works examine the \u003c\/em\u003e\u003cem\u003econtradictory yet interconnected relationship between the individual and society. \u003c\/em\u003e\u003cem\u003eThe series moves from social marginalization, through a period of nihilism and \u003c\/em\u003e\u003cem\u003ecollapse, toward reconciliation with the past and the emergence of self-acceptance.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cem\u003eAll three works are entirely handmade, with no found objects used. \u003c\/em\u003e\u003cem\u003eIn ARC-2, the figure is constructed from pearls and resin and can be detached \u003c\/em\u003e\u003cem\u003efrom its base. \u003c\/em\u003e\u003cem\u003eIn ARC-3, the skull is hand-carved from wood.
