"I dreamed of you again last night. You seemed fine at first. Everything was calm and shining as we were both speaking the language of animals. But as always, things got darker, as they had to - things went south. The air became so heavy. You were no longer at ease. The monsters had returned. Leaning over me, they were strangling me with their long, cold, clenched hands for the hundredth time. That’s when I woke up. In a panic and covered in my own sweat."
For as long as I can remember, my dreams have always been colourful and vivid. Truth is that I'm also prone to horrifying nightmares coupled with traumatic episodes of sleep paralysis. Haunted by an oppressive feeling when I wake up, I can carry the weight for days. It is while trying to tame these blurred yet very graphic images that the need to represent them became obvious. I then started to use my distressing sensations as my primary inspiration when creating and playing with the material, in order to exorcise these fears and anxieties of mine. Or at least, try to.
