The “sentinels” or bird studies began about 7 years ago when Robertson built her studio along the Gatineau River. Immersed in rural living, she became more intimately engaged in nature. Her material exploration extended to taxidermy, a practice which informed and initiated her recent solo exhibit Seed/Semence at Gallery Montcalm in Gatineau, and subsequently these paintings.
