Four-Leaf Mixed Media Brooch by Odile Gova
Odile Gova's decorative fibre brooches have been knitted with Noro Kureyon wool from Japan, a material that is thick and strong enough to handle the weight of the zipper chosen. The artist developed two interesting techniques of making felt rope and felt beads which are incorporated. Each element, including each bead and rhinestone is sewn in twice, so the brooch lasts--it is firm and resistant.
Four colourful leaf forms adorn one side of this brooch, accented by rhinestones and beads. Handmade with black, green, orange, yellow and blue wool felt. Brooch measures approximately 2.5 x 3.25".
For over fifteen years Odile Gova felted thrifted knit 100% wool garments and prior to that was a painter for about fifteen years. Her elaborate designs come from a daily morning session of sketching.
