Shigaraki wood fire clay, porcelain, glaze, 18 x 10.5 x 13".
Coil hand-built and wheel thrown, Wood fired in Japan to 1280c
This piece was created at the Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park in Japan during a two-month residency supported by Canada Council for the Arts Travel Abroad grant. It was twice fired in wood and gas kiln. The molten feldspar beads on the surface is a well-known unique character of the local clay there.
