Gayle Buzzi: Accidental Landscapes

The opening for this exhibition will be Saturday, November 9th, 2019 between 1pm and 3 pm.

Growing up in Northwestern Ontario, Gayle Buzzi was exposed to many aspects of nature and she now finds her inspiration from the natural world. She creates fragile, glass sculptures, frozen in a state of deterioration. These artworks allude to the strained relationship that many humans have with the natural world, and the natural world's current state of deterioration.

Gayle attended her Master of Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba in 2019 following and Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts at Lakehead University in 2016.

Her previous exhibitions include: Perspectives from Here at the Thunder Bay Art Gallery (2017), Contrasts and Contradictions: The Polarizing Qualities of Glass at the Living Arts Centre (2018), and En Route: Sculptural Ceramics and Glass Emerging from Manitoba (2019), at the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery. She has also been selected to participate in the International Biennale of Glass in Sofia, Bulgaria (2019).
