Originally from a hill tribe from south west China, Soma started to make jewelry after immigrating to Edmonton, starting with beading in which she combines some traditional accessories and unusual combinations. In 2014 she went to China's southwest border with Tibet to study traditional silver smithing, working only with hand tools and no electricity.
Matte oxidized stud drop earrings are transformed salvaged silver-plated chains hand-fabricated into hoop earrings. with a maximum length of 20 cm and standing out from the ear by 3.5 cm, they are bold and feminine with great movement. Wonderfully light, the posts are surgical steel.
Work in Progress earrings fabricated from Steel and silver, with a Rough Diamond detail. The text is created with an etching technic. The patterns on the surface are made with heat, and the surface is protected with microcrystalline wax.
