Soma Mo

My one-of-a-kind jewellery often combines traditional Chinese elements with beading using a variety of polished and rough cut stones. I am inspired by the traditional dress of my heritage. 

Born in a hill tribe in the Himalayas in southwest China, Soma Mo began making jewellery after immigrating to Edmonton.  Soma has travelled many times to Tibet to study traditional silversmithing skills with a local silver master. Only handmade tools are used in this practise. Somo continues to work exclusively with hand tools and no electricity.
