Split, hand fabricated sterling silver brooch with a delicate etched leaf pattern, 7.5 x 3.8 cm.

"I keep going back to this idea, and I think it’s the simplicity of the structure that holds my interest. They are usually based on a simple geometry with one or two slits, then seeing how the flat plane changes into something more three dimensional as the sections are distorted. On this silver brooch, I added etched leaves to see how the splits would rearrange them."
