Split, hand fabricated bronze brooch, forged and textured, with a sterling rivet pin. 7.2 x 3.8 cm.

"I keep going back to this idea, and I think it’s the simplicity of the structure that holds my interest. They are usually based on a simple geometry with one or two slits then seeing how the flat plane changes into something more three dimensional as the sections are distorted. On this bronze brooch I textured and bent the rectangle before splitting it to see how that changed after the splitting and moving of those sections."
