Blue Montana Sapphire Ring in Silver and Gold by Matias Beaulieu

Ring in sterling silver, 18K yellow gold, and 10K rose gold, with a blue Montana sapphire and two green sapphires. Created with engraving, lost wax casting, and stone setting. Size 9.5. 

This ring represents light, but particularly the sun. It is impossible to look at the sun with naked eye. So, I represented the light of the sun with the engraved yellow gold. Coming through there are two blades of rose gold. Those blades are the symbol of the impossibility to look at the sun. It’s a duality between light and the eyes.
