Button Brooch by Micah Adams

Button Brooch, 2024.  Welded steel buttons, 5 cm x 10 cm (approx.)

The brooches are made from found buttons used for political campaigns or promotion. They were not originally manufactured to be long lasting. They are essentially made to be disposable goods.  The paper has been removed and while using the laser welder I pondered the question: when does a button become a brooch? What you see are some examples of the results.
