Hand-Faceted Found Glass Pendant by Matias Beaulieu
Pendant in sterling silver and glass. Created with hand faceting, wax sculpting, lost wax casting, and glass setting. 30 mm x 15 mm x 8 mm. May 2025.
This pendant is inspired by the wind and the sky. The piece of glass has been found on the beach on the St-Lawrence River. It has been handed polished with sandpaper for couple of hours to reveal the fracture in the glass. A rainbow of colours appears as we move it in our hand due to light bouncing on the fractured piece. This is a balance between the fragility of the glass fractured by nature and the sterling silver sculpted into a cloudy and windy envelope, preserving it forever.
