This necklace is an invitation to reflect on the people who have shaped us and who continue to live within our identity through the values they have passed on to us. We all carry traces of those who have guided, inspired, and loved us.
For me, this necklace materializes the legacy left by my grandparents. It brings together memories, lessons, and values that have helped make me the person I am today. The sea glass represents my grandfather. Collected along the Saint-Lawrence River, it evokes the moments we spent exploring nature and nurturing my creativity. It is enveloped by a botanical pod representing my grandmother, her garden, and the care she devoted to those around her. Together, these elements reflect the love that united them.
The glass is left rough in some areas and cut into polished facets in others, creating a contrast with the organic forms. This meeting of different materials and styles forms a coherent whole, reflecting both their relationship and the legacy they passed on to me.
Through this necklace, I hope to remind viewers that our identity is rarely built alone. It is shaped by the connections we share with others and by the traces they leave within us.
