For this project, I chose a clothes hanger as my primary source of inspiration. Initially, I was drawn to its fluid lines, symmetrical structure, and triangular form. Its simplicity and clarity made it great for modular design and repetition. However, as I developed my sketches, I became more interested in the hanger’s function and symbolic meaning. Clothing and wardrobes are extensions of personal identity—spaces where we exercise choice and control. Which inspired me to design a customizable piece that user can interact with, allowing it to be arranged and adapted just like a wardrobe.
The wire wrapping was inspired by the hanger’s metal hook. As I started attaching the wires, I began to think of building a wardrobe as a kind of exploration—almost like wandering through a forest. Filled with discoveries and surprises. As I worked, the wires naturally formed shapes that reminded me of insects and small creatures, bringing in elements of nature and giving the piece a more organic feel.
