Qikiqtarjuaq Bangle with 20k Nunavut Gold by Allyson Simmie

Qikiqtarjuaq bangle bracelet, made of sterling silver with 20k Nunavut gold. It measures 7cm in diameter.

The 20k gold disc represents the Arctic sun, the texture on the sun was created by pressing dried tundra grasses directly into the soft surface of the high-karat gold.

These pieces represent many different aspects of the Canadian Landscape- from coast to coast to coast. Stone, rock textures and gold from different parts of the country have been deliberately paired. Despite the vast distances that often separate us, these pieces serve as a reminder of how we are united.
