Craft Ontario have announced the recipient of the 2021 Craft Ontario Excellence in Jewellery Award + Lacy West Supply Grant is: Anna Lindsay Macdonald!

Her new work evokes the smooth industrial surfaces linked with times of scientific innovation throughout history (1920-1930, 1960-1970). She refers to the moon, to armour, and to our mid-century fascination with space travel as a study of the material conditions of optimism. She incorporates vintage cutlery handles and reclaimed plastics from car headlights into the work alongside materials more commonly associated with luxury as a method to explore the subtleties of both the natural and the simulated.
