"Originally from Japan, Eiko Maeda has been devoting her life to producing Japanese ceramics and expressing the elegant, beautiful, delicate, and humble nature of Japanese culture through her works. She has received several awards, including Helen Copeland Memorial Award in Ceramics from Craft Ontario in 2021. At this event you won’t want to miss, you will witness the ancient Japanese technique of Nerikomi – which consists in arranging clay of different colours in a block and then slicing through it to reveal a pattern in the cross section. This results in exquisite colour combinations and surface patterns."
