Lisa Creskey's solo exhibition Pression atmosphérique is on at Galerie Montcalm from August 26th - October 10th. 

Due to its feeding behaviour, the great blue heron has been used as a tool to assess bioaccumulative toxins present in the environment.

Sculptural installation, Atmospheric Pressure contrasts the industrial constructions of the region's forest history and ancient nesting sites.

Through works with surrealist connotations, Lisa Creskey, ceramic artist, questions the relationships that are forged between culture, industry and the natural world.

Using clay, she tells, in Atmospheric Pressure, the imagined story of a colony of great blue herons which forage along the rivers of the region.

The artist thus presents us with a world parallel to that which arose from the history of logging and the wood industry in the Ottawa-Gatineau region.
